Choosing a small law firm for a car accident claim offers real advantages, and I want to explain how my firm approaches each case.
You Work Directly With Your Attorney
When a client retains our firm, I stay completely involved from start to finish. I make myself available by phone or email. I also return all calls and emails the same day I receive them, as long as they reach me before 5 p.m. As a result, you always deal with the attorney handling your matter, not an intermediary.
How Large Firms Often Differ
In my experience, a lawyer at a large firm may not personally handle the claim. Instead, a legal assistant often manages it. A legal assistant is not a paralegal. In other words, the title carries no specific qualification beyond the role itself. Legal assistants exist to support the lawyer, and they cannot give legal advice. Sometimes a secretary handles the claim instead. That person gathers the documents and directs the file. Meanwhile, the lawyer may not get involved unless the case grows more complex. If you want guidance on choosing representation, the DC Bar offers helpful resources for the public.
The Hands-On Advantage
The advantage of a small firm like mine is simple: I handle the work myself. I contact the adverse carrier. I pursue the PIP claim, or medical payment claim, when the case involves one. I also handle the property damage claim. Whatever the case reasonably requires, I do it personally.
If an injury affects you, our experienced car accident lawyer, personal injury lawyer, and slip and fall lawyer are available for a free consultation.
