After serving in the United States Air Corps in World War II, Mr. Gelb received his undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton. In 1952, Joseph earned his law degree from George Washington University.

Joseph D. Gelb

After completing his studies, Mr. Gelb first worked as an Adjudicator for the War Claims Commission. In 1954, Joseph D. Gelb went into private practice and started what is now known as Gelb & Gelb, P.C.

Mr. Gelb was a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland State Bar. Mr. Gelb was also admitted to appear before the Federal courts in the District of Columbia, including the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Gelb’s reported cases included, Roth vs. Speck, 126 A.2d 153 and McGettigan vs. National Bank of Washington, 320 F.2d 703.

Mr. Gelb was an active member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Bar Association, The Trial Lawyers Assocation of Metropolitain Washington,D.C. and was profiled in Who’s Who in American Law. It should come as no surprise that Mr. Gelb is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Gelb was married for over 40 years and had two children and five grandchildren.
